π¦ The Butterfly Wings
There may be no more perfect symbol for We Are All Meant to Shine than standing inside illuminated butterfly wings while laughing under the evening sky.
Transformation. Joy. Light. Color. Becoming.
There are some experiences that donβt really feel like an βevent.β
They feel more like stepping briefly into another world.
On Sunday evening, with friends visiting from out of town, we wandered through Glowing Wild at Turtle Bay Exploration Park β an illuminated landscape filled with towering flowers, glowing butterflies, lantern creatures, dinosaurs, swirling lights, and impossible colors.
And somewhere between the glowing poppies and the suspended lanterns hanging from the trees, something softened.
Not in a dramatic life-changing way.
Just in the quiet human way that beauty sometimes reaches us when we least expect it.
For a couple of hours, adults became children again.
People stopped rushing.
Everyone slowed down enough to look.
And honestly? I think we need more experiences like that.
πΈ The Glowing Garden
Some of my favorite moments werenβt the giant displays at all.
They were the smaller details: the glowing flowers tucked into the dark, the lanterns suspended in the trees, the feeling of wandering slowly through light instead of hurrying toward the next thing.
π¦ The Lantern Creatures
The birds especially felt magical β somewhere between folk art, mythology, and dreamscape. Everywhere you looked, there was another tiny surprise.
β¨ Why Experiences Like This Matter
We live in such an overstimulated world that wonder can start to feel rare.
But places like this remind me that awe still exists. Beauty still exists. Playfulness still exists.
And maybe part of being human is allowing ourselves to keep responding to it.
I left thinking about how much people need light right now.
Not just literal light.
But beauty.
Color.
Connection.
Moments that interrupt routine long enough for us to feel fully present again.
Glowing Wild does that beautifully.
And for one warm May evening, under lantern flowers and glowing skies, it felt like the world remembered how to sparkle a little.
If You Go
