Triboluminescence

The rabbit hole began
when I read online:

Quartz crystal is not a solid or liquid.

“Is that true?”
questioned my woo
thermometer?

My travels led to
interesting places

where I discovered
friction between
two quartz crystals
creates triboluminescence.

Seeking why and how,
only to learn
science doesn’t yet
have all the answers.

Some believe
it creates an energy
that excites electrons

No heat,
only cold flashes of light
